इसकी खोज चीन के वैज्ञानिकों ने की है । पहले इसे सिंकहोल का घाटी समझा जाता था रहस्य वाली बात है की इसके अंदर करोड़ों साल पुराना एक प्राचीन जंगल मिला यह कुल मिलाकर 630 फीट गहरा है। 6 मई को चीन के वैज्ञानिकों ने इस प्राचीन जंगल की खोज की थी। 

इस गड्डे की चौड़ाई 493 फीट और लंबाई 1004 फीट से भी ज्यादा है। इस का पूरा आकार 50 लाख क्यूबिक मीटर बताया जा रहा है। चीन के एक सीनियर इंजीनियर झांग यूआनहाई ने कहा इस गड्ढे के पास दीवार में तीन गुफाएं और भी है जिसकी उत्पति एक साथ ही हुई है। इस गड्ढे के तलहटी में मौजूद जंगल में प्राचीन पेड़ है जो करीब 120 फीट लंबे है। इन गड्ढे के अंदर बहुत सी गुफाएं है जो आमतौर पर भूगर्भीय आकृति चीन,मैक्सिको और पापुआ न्यू गिनी से मिलती है।

गुफाओं के एक्सपर्ट जॉर्ज वेनी ने कहा की यह एक शानदार खबर है। जॉर्ज वेनी इस खोज में शामिल नहीं थे। लेकिन उनका संस्थान चीनी वैज्ञानिकों के साथ जुड़ा हुआ है। बारिश के समय इन गड्ढों में काफी मात्रा में पानी इकट्ठा हो जाते है । इस पानी का लंबे समय तक पड़े रखने से यह पानी एसिडिक बन जाता है। इसकी वजह से कई नालिया और सुरंगे बन जाती है। पानी की वजह से ये गड्ढे। बड़े हो जाते है लेकिन पहली बार चीन के वैज्ञानिकों को इतना बड़ा गड्ढा मिला।

जॉर्ज वेनी ने बताया की लगभग अमेरिका का 25 फीसदी इलाका भौगोलिक स्थितियों का है । लेकिन चीन में की गई बड़े गड्ढा ज्वालामुखी और हवा के वजह से बना है।

चीन में इसे देवीय गड्ढा मानते है वहा के लोगो का मानना है की इस गड्ढे के पीछे कोई वैज्ञानिक वजह नही है बल्कि पीछे लोककथाएं है। चीन के इस गड्ढे में आपको बहुत सी नई दुनिया देखने को मिल जाएगी । चीन के वैज्ञानिकों का कहना है की वो इस गड्ढे के जंगल में जाकर वहा के पेड़ पौधे और उस जंगल में पाए जाने वाले जीव जंतुओं का अध्यन कर सके लेकी उनका कहना है की इस गड्ढे में जाना बहुत ही रिस्की है।

सिंकहोल के तल तक पहुंचने से पहले गुफा के खोजकर्ताओं को कई घंटों तक चलना पड़ा।  वहां, उन्हें तीन प्रवेश द्वार मिले, रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है।  सिंकहोल का तल "अच्छी तरह से संरक्षित आदिम वन" के साथ पंक्तिबद्ध है।

 Caves expert George Veni said that this is great news.  George Veni was not involved in the search.  But his institute is associated with Chinese scientists.  During the rainy season, a lot of water collects in these pits.  If this water is kept for a long time, this water becomes acidic.  Due to this many drains and tunnels are formed.  These pits because of water.  They grow up, but for the first time, Chinese scientists found such a big pit.

George Veni said that about 25 percent of America's area is of geographical conditions.  But the big crater made in China is made due to volcano and wind.

 In China, it is considered a divine pit, the people there believe that there is no scientific reason behind this pit, but there is a folklore behind it.  You will get to see many new worlds in this pit of China.  Chinese scientists say that they could go to the forest of this pit and study the trees and plants found in that forest, but they say that it is very risky to go to this pit.

 Cave explorers had to walk for several hours before reaching the bottom of the sinkhole.  There, they found three entrances, the report said.  The bottom of the sinkhole is lined with a "well-preserved primitive forest".

 Chen Lixin, leader of the Guangxi 702 Cave Expedition Team, told the agency that the ancient trees below are about 40 meters high (131 feet), and the dense shade plants up to one's shoulders.  Mr Lixin said he would not be surprised if species in these caves have not yet been reported or described by science.
